The Firm:

Our client is a successful, proactively growing two partner accounting firm based within 10kms north west of Melbourne’s CBD who seeks an experienced Business Services Manager to join their client focused team to assist with their future succession planning. This firm services predominately SMEs, as well as some individuals, with the clientele ranging from mum and dad tradies to multimillion dollar enterprises across broad ranging industries. The firm’s core services include accounting, tax, SMSF, advisory, and it also holds a limited SMSF licence. Whilst not presently offered, there is potential to also consider the introduction of financial planning or mortgage broking to the firm’s services.

The practice focuses on always delivering value through its quality service, great turnaround and response times, and its objective of creating wealth, whilst minimising tax, for its clients. As a result, the firm has very strong client relationships and retention rates with positive referral rates. The firm utilises MYOB AO, BGL and CAS, whilst clients use a range of programs, some industry specific, however with many now moving towards Xero.

 

The Candidate:

To be successful in this role you will be at least a degree qualified accountant, currently in a manager role, with a minimum of 7+ years' experience in Australian public practice. You will be team oriented, a proactive leader able to manage other staff, and have the ability to perform and complete a corporate compliance and tax minimisation assignment without review. Thus, task accuracy and the ability to think outside the square is important. Over time you will also become a registered tax agent.

You must be client focused with the ability to maintain and grow client relationships. Strong, clear written and verbal communication is imperative. Highly effective computer skills are also a must. Given the proposed transition to partner, you will be expected to have the financial capacity to contribute towards the acquisition of equity.

 

The Opportunity:

You will commence at Manager level, and for the right candidate, there will be clear progression towards the position of partner after 12 months. Remuneration will be commensurate with the successful applicant's skills and experience – circa $100K to $120K package.
