Typically you will be doing this for the first or perhaps even the second time. At Rob Knights & Co, over the past 30 years we have been involved in working with vendors and purchasers undertaking this process for hundreds if not thousands of times.
Too commonly we are asked to help after the deal has gone partially or totally wrong resulting in major losses or collapse of negotiations.
The time to seek the benefits of experience is at the start of the project. It is simply unrealistic to try renegotiating terms previously agreed!
Yes, we will charge a fee for our services, but it will be only a minor fraction of the sum that may be lost through a poor claw-back recognition, or a sale basis that exposes you to loss.
